Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring to class?

Yourself and your child! You may bring indoor shoes if you are uncomfortable with socks or bare feet. Indoor shoes are definitely recommended in the winter months to avoid wet socks in the entryway!

Is food/drink permitted in the classroom?

No. Food/drink can be a distraction for other children and we also want to keep the environment clean. If you need to feed your child or your child needs a drink, please step out into the waiting room to do so.

Am I expected to actively participate when I am in class with my child?

Yes! You are your child's number one teacher and looks to you for guidance and validation! So if your child does not see you being actively engaged in class, your child does not see a reason to participate fully! By participating with your child, you are supporting her learning. So do not be afraid to jump up and down, sing whole-heartedly and roll on the ground! We are all in it together creating the best learning environment possible for each child.

My child is an observer and does not always feel comfortable participating in group activities, is Kindermusik the right environment?

Absolutely! Every child is different! Some are very active, some like to observe, some need mom or dad close by, some like to venture on their own. Observing can be a powerful learning tool and your child will participate when he feels ready, secure and comfortable. The best thing you can do to support your child's participation is relax! Don't worry about it! Let your child lead you and let him know you are their to support his learning in whichever way is most comfortable for him!
